6th Aire Valley Running Day.

The 2010 Aire Valley Running Day on October 10th will be themed on coaches, with a selection of coaches from the last 50 years.

We have already had confirmation from over 40 owners of historic buses & coaches that they will be attending, with over 25 buses & coaches operating the large network of FREE services. A selection of vehicles from the 1930's to 1980's will be running on the day.

Nocturnal Heart of the Pennines Rally 2010

The Nocturnal Heart of the Pennines Rally Group has been formed by several local groups, with many years of rally organization behind them. The groups were asked to resurrect this highly successful event. We shall be running a FREE bus service to the Jubilee Refreshment Rooms at Sowerby Bridge Railway Station, which will be serving a selection of food, beverages and real ale.

This years event will be held at the Piece Hall Halifax on October 31st 2010 from 1200 to 1900

So far we have had over 25 vehicle entries with many of the operating on the FREE bus service.

Bedford OB stars in Last of the Summer Wine.

David Hudsons former West Yorkshire Bedford OB  (FWW 596)  starred in the final episode of the iconic TV program "Last Of The Summer Wine" on Sunday 29th August 2010 it also the last vehicle to be seen in the show.

YET ANOTHER VINTAGE BUS JOINS THE 

AIRE VALLEY TRANSPORT COLLECTION  

*** After 78 years in exile Ex Blythe and Berwick of Bradford (taken over by West Yorkshire Road Car) Leyland Lion PLSC3 of 1927 (KW1961) has retutned to it's home town, this is proberly the oldest motor bus perserved in the area. This gem been acquired by members of the group.***
